SafeFrame
The leading cause of accidents on traditional stepladders is standing on the top cap or on the top rung. Operators have a tendency to select the lightest stepladder available. When they need a taller stepladder, they break OSHA and ANSI rules by climbing past the highest recommend step to the top rung or top cap, which is an extremely unsafe practice. We engineered the patent-pending Little Giant SafeFrame™ stepladder to prevent operators from standing on either the top rung or top cap. The SafeFrame also features an extra deep top recommended standing rung to provide increased balance and stability, which will help operators work with more speed and less fatigue.
Little Giant’s unique Face-Forward™ top cap cradles the operators legs, encouraging the operator to face the front of the ladder while working rather than turn or twisting their body unsafely.
Many ladder-related injuries actually occur at the bottom of the ladder as the operator descends and dismounts the ladder. As many as 20 percent of injuries occur when the operator misses the bottom step of the ladder and lands hard on the ground, which commonly results in severe ankle, knee, and back injuries.
The SafeFrame features Little Giant’s patent-pending Ground Cue™ bottom rung indicator trains the operator to feel and hear an audible alert reminding him that it is safe to dismount the ladder.
The SafeFrame is also available with Little Giant’s new, patented Ratchet Levelers™ on each leg. The Ratchet Levelers adjust hands-free in seconds. These integrated levelers are extremely quick and easy to operate. No tricky installs with brackets and butterfly bolts. Simply push the levelers with your toe until the ladder reaches a level, stable setup. The levelers offer nearly 9.5 inches of leveling adjustment.
These features are designed to prevent the most common types of stepladder injuries. The SafeFrame is constructed of lightweight, high-strength nonconductive fiberglass and is ANSI rated to hold 375 lbs and will be available for purchase at industrial and construction suppliers by mid 2015
